MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION #42R
REGULAR MEETING
7/13/2026
The Osmond Board of Education met at 7:01 pm, Monday, July 13, 2026, in the multi-purpose room at Osmond Community Schools, located at 202 W. Prairie St., Osmond, NE.
It was moved by Rice, seconded by Koehler, that it is hereby determined that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice on the school district website and in the July 8, 2026 issue of the Osmond Republican, according to policy 2008 and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared, passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. A copy of the open meetings act was posted in the room.

Board roll call was taken, with all members being present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
It was moved by Gansebom, seconded by Rice, to approve the Agenda as presented.

Patron Input: None. President Moes recognized Regina Lorenz with the Osmond Republican as the news reporter in attendance.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Koehler, to approve the consent agenda, reviewed, revised and/or new board
policies 3014, 3026 (approval of handbooks) and 5052 (approval of Triennial Assessment), the financial reports and July claims as presented.

Athletic Director Guenther reported on: 1) the recent EPIC football camp held at OCS; 2) gym floor refinishing; and 3) noted that the Plainview-Osmond coop is going well, reporting there will most likely be some basketball games played in Osmond.
Superintendent Bremer reported on: 1) Policy information; 2) coop sharing committee update; 3) board workshop on July 27th; 4) NASB Area Membership meeting on Aug. 26th; 5) possible School Kitchen Modernization Grant opportunity; 6) the resolution to increase the 2026-2027 district base percentage by up to 7%; 7) board goals; 11) superintendent goals; and 12) provided facility updates.
Board Member / Committee Reports: 1) President Moes reported to the board that bids for possible air-conditioning in the cafeteria are still forthcoming; and 2) Moes, Reikofski and Gansebom provided a report on the recent coop committee meeting with Plainview.
Action Items: It was moved by Gansebom, seconded by Rice, to approve the resolution to increase the 2026-2027 district base percentage by up to 7% or other maximum amount as permitted by law.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:57 pm.
Notice is hereby given that the next regular meeting of the Osmond Board of Education will be on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 7:00 pm at the school. An agenda is kept continually current and is available for public inspection in the Superintendent’s office during regular office hours.
