The Lewis & Clark / Bloomfield Invitational were postponed from Friday the 6th to Monday the 9th due to excessive water standing on the Rolling Hills Golf Course and wet, stormy weather. Monday was still challenging for the runners as the temperature was a raw 42 with stiff breeze and light rain and sleet at times.
The Tigers seemed to take it all in stride as they finished both meets in 3rd place just 2 points from the runner-up plaque. Jared Bessmer finished 6th in 18:51 Johnson Chishiba right behind in 7th in a time of 18:58. Aaron Chishiba was 11th in 19:34, and Keaton Timmerman was 31st in a time of 21:57. Ethan Pfanstiel was 35th in 22:23, Alexander Heiman 39th in 23:01, Alex Kumm 45th in 24:47, and Connor vonRentzell was 48th in 25:53.
Scores: 1st – 18 Hartington, 2nd – 46 Winnebago, 3rd – 48 Osmond, 4th – 51 Winside, 5th – 77 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, 6th – 90 Ponca, 7th – 145 Randolph.
Osmond Tiger’s girl’s team medaled one runner as Lexi Beacom finished in 13th place in a time of 25:25, Hayle Krienert was 18th in 27:46, and Jozie Kumm finished in 22nd place in 30:19.
Tiger junior High boy’s finished in 12th and 13th place in the Bloomfield invite. Kaden Polt was 12th in 10:36 and Robert Aschoff was 13th in 10:38.
“I thought the kid’s did a great job considering the weather” praised Coach Ortmeier, “they showed toughness just to be out there and they competed well.”
