On a warm humid day the Osmond Tigers took the course against 20 area class C and D teams at Skyview Lake for the Norfolk Catholic Invitational. Norfolk Catholic won the boys team race with Pierce second and the Tigers finished in 9th place. Wayne won the girls side and Pierce again was second.
Hartington-Newcastle’s Carson Noecker won the boy’s race in record time of 15:37.48 and second was Ben Hammond of Norfolk Catholic in a time of 17:56. Gavin Geneski was the top placer for Osmond as he missed out on a medal by one place. He finished in 16th place in a time of 18:57.18.
Robert Aschoff finished in 29th place (19:55.41), Dominic True 42nd place (20:51.47), Karter Johnson 51st place (21:16.86), Kaden Polt 60th place (21:47.88, Caleb Miller 72nd place (22:35.81), and Bodie True 73rd place in (22:37.36).
Crofton’s Jordyn Arens won the girl’s race in 20:00.0 with Darla Nelson of Bloomfield/Wausa finishing second in 21:23.82. Keli Aschoff had the top finish for the Osmond girl’s at 24th place in a time of 25:05.70. Riley Wagner was 51st covering the distance in 30:20.41.
The Osmond junior varsity boys were second led by medal winner Matthew Alderson’s 5th place finish. Matthew’s time was 21:54.44. Hunter Beacom was 13th (22:59.03), Hudson Schultze 24th (24:06.36), and James Doyle 29th in (24:54.48) in the field of 55 runners.
In the junior high division Rachel Harder just missed medaling as she finished 11th in a time of 8:13.0 for the 2000 meter race. Charley Aschoff was close behind placing 13th in a time of 8:16.58. There were 102 runners in the girl’s race. For the boy’s race Kooper Gubbels finished in 79th place in a time of 9:55.19. There were 109 runners in the boy’s race.
