The Osmond Cross Country teams traveled to Twin Creeks Golf Club outside of Pender for the D-2 District XC meet. A beautiful day greeted the runners from 21 schools: 97 boys and 67 girls.
The Tigers all ran well with some season’s best times recorded. Top finishers were Jared Bessmer and Johnson Chishiba who placed 10th and 12th respectively. Any runners placing in the top 15 qualify for next week’s State meet in Kearney. Jared’s time was 18:00.65 and Johnson was clocked at 18:22.04.
The next Tiger runner was Aaron Chishiba coming in 37th place in 19:49.40, then Ethan Pfanstiel 49th in a time of 20:15.17, then Keaton Timmerman in 66th place at 21:05.91 and finally Alexander Heiman in 84th place in a time of 22:51.90.

The Girl’s team ran well with Lexi Beacom finishing 31st in a time of 25:19.9, Hayle Krienert 37th in a time of 26:21.40, and Jozie Kumm 57th in 30:04.3.
Top three girls teams and state qualifiers were 1st. 39 – Bloomfield-Wausa: 2nd 47 – Crofton: and 3rd 54 – Stanton.
“This is a tough field of quality runners” noted Coach Joe Ortmeier. “Our teams competed hard and I’m proud of their efforts. Also best of luck to Jared and Johnson at State X-C.”
State Cross Country will be held at the Kearney Country Club next Friday October 20th. Class D boys are scheduled to start at 3:00.
