It was a beautiful 60° day at Skyview Lake for the Norfolk Catholic Cross Country Invitational. The Tigers did not win any medals, but had some nice improvements in time on this tough course,
Dominic True had the best finish for the boy’s team as he came in 19th in a time of 18:56.87. Robert Aschoff was next in 31st place in 19:24.33, Caleb Miller was 41st in 19:49.24, and Gavin Geneski close behind in 43rd place and was clocked at 19:53.32. Matthew Alderson was next in 50th place in a time of 20:13.07 and Carter Johnson was 57th in a time of 20:35.55. The Tigers finished in 8th place in the 16 team field.
In the boy’s junior varsity division Noah Geneski finished in 15th place with Hudson Schultze next at 16th place. Their times were 21:54.79 and 21:56.64 respectively. Jack Berg placed 33 in a time of 23:33.20.
Keli Aschoff ran a nice time of 23:30.21 to finish in 27th place. Her time was a full minute and a half faster than she was clocked last year on this course.
In the junior high girl’s race Rachel Harder placed 13th and Charley Aschoff was 14th. Rachel’s time for the 2K race was 8:10.33 and Charley’s time was 8:14.13. Deanna Kumm finished in 62nd place in 9:54.61. For the boy’s Mason True placed 14th in 7:32.37 and Donovan Heiman finished in 19th place in 7:37.09.
“We ran well on this tough course,” Coach Joe Ortmeier noted, “we are in better shape and just keep competing.”
