Friday October 7th the Osmond cross country team traveled to Rolling Hills golf course for the Lewis & Clark conference meet which is also the Bloomfield invitational. Carson Noecker of Hartington-Newcastle won the meet for the fourth time in a row and again broke his own course and meet record. His record set last year was 15:34.30; this year was clocked at 14:38.93.
Robert Aschoff was the fastest Osmond runner placing 9th in the Lewis & Clark meet in a time of 18:25.36. Caleb Miller was 17th in 19:05.78. Dominic True was next in 22nd place (19:23.06), Karter Johnson next in 23rds place (19:31.33), Gavin Geneski 25th (19:37.31), and Matthew Alderson 28th (19:56.70).
Hudson Schultze was 31st in a time of 20:09.59, Noah Geneski 36th in 20:43.85, and Jack Berg came in 47th in his best time of 22:30.74.
Same times but changes of place in the Bloomfield meet due to adding in teams from Lutheran High Northeast and Norfolk High. Robert 9th , Caleb 18th, Dominic 23rd ,Karter 24th , Gavin 26th , Matthew 30th , Hudson 33rd , Noah 39th , and Jack 51st .
The boy’s finished in fourth place in both meets behind champions Bloomfield-Wausa and runner-up Hartington and third place Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
Keli Aschoff ran her best time of this season of 22:32.00. This time was good for 10th place in the L&C conference meet and 11th place in the Bloomfield meet.
In the junior high division of the Bloomfield meet at a distance of 2500 meters, Rachel Harder finished in 5ht place in 10:50.01. Charley Aschoff placed 7th in 10:56.43, and Deanna Kumm was 16th in a time of 11:59.01. For the boy’s race Mason True was 13th in a time of 10:17.72. Donovan Heiman placed 14th in 10:59.84.
“We competed pretty well, especially after a long recall due to a timing issue. The race restarted 10 minutes following the stoppage after probably a half mile” noted Coach Joe Ortmeier. “Now it’s time for the District meet on Thursday at Ainsworth. This decides who runs at the State Cross Country meet in Kearney the following week.”
