For the first time in a number of years the Osmond Track and Field teams have been training outdoors and on the track. The Tigers will be led this season by five State Qualifiers from last season. Senior’s Erica Heiman, Hunter Buchanan, James Doyle, junior Keli Aschoff and sophomore Jaxon Vinson have experience at Burke Stadium in Omaha. Senior Xander Brown also has State experience in the discus his sophomore year but missed last season due to knee surgery.
Returning letter winners include seniors Caleb Miller, Dominic True, and Anabelle Vinson. Junior letter winners are Carson Bolz, Noah Geneski, Sophie Gansebom and Brianna Kumm. Sophomore letter winners are Jack Berg, Ava Reikofski, Abby Brown, and Erin Aschoff.
Additional team members are senior’s Matthew Alderson, Owen Severson, and sophomore Nicholas Velasco. New team members are freshmen Kaleb Gardner, Donovan Heiman, Austin Napier, Mason True, Caleb Vinson, Charley Aschoff, Klaire Johnson, Deanna Kumm, and Addison Miller.
“We are having very good workouts so far and the team is preparing for the Wayne State meet to be held outdoors on Saturday March 16th” noted Coach Joe Ortmeier.
Coach Ortmeier will be assisted by Jessica Evens and Brian Guenther.
