Monday April 15^th the Osmond Track & Field teams traveled to Hartington for the Wildcat Invite.  The boy’s finished in third place and the girls sixth.

          The boy’s 3200-relay team was the lone gold medal performance of the day for the Tigers.  The winning time was 9:30.08 and team members were Johnson Chishiba, Mason Bykerk, Joshua Gansebom, and Anthony Heiman.   The 400-relay team and 1600-relay team both earned runner-up places.  The 400 team of Aaron Chishiba, Nick Reikofski, Bodie True, and Zach Huwaldt were timed at 47.96.  The 1600-relay team of Johnson Chishiba, Connor Gutz, Graysen Schultze, and Anthony Heiman ran a time of 3:46.76.

          Osmond showed some depth in a number of events.  The 3200 meters was one event where three Tigers scored.  Mason Bykerk was second (11:22.93), Jared Bessmer third (11:27.06), and Hunter Beacom sixth place (13:17.80). Also in the 1600 meters Osmond scored three runners: Graysen Schultze fourth(5:13.27), Jared Bessmer fifth (5:23.11), and Joshua Gansebom sixth (5:31.95). Three hurdlers scored in the 300 hurdles as Justus Maertins was third (44.11), Keaton Wattier fifth (48.83), and Kaden Polt sixth (49.78). 

          Aaron Chishiba was third in the 200 meters in a time of 25.25, and Zach Huwaldt was sixth in the 100 meters in a time of 12.11.  Johnson Chishiba was third in the 800 meters in 2:13.88.  Johnson was also sixth in the 400 meters right behind Connor Guts.  Johnson’s time was 57.50 and Connors was 56.94.  Keaton Wattier finished third in the 110 high hurdles in 16.71 and Justus Maertins was sixth in 18.21. 

          In the field events Alexis Solorzano collected third place in the shot put with a toss of 42-3.  He was also fourth in the discus with his best throw of the season of 121-6.  Two Tigers scored in the triple jump.  Graysen Schultze was fifth with a mark of 38-10.5 and Justus Maertins was sixth at 38-5, both seasons’ best marks. Nick Reikofski took sixth place in the long jump at 17-8.5 and Aaron Chishiba made the finals but did not score. 

          For the girl’s Mary Kahny had a very fine day as she took runner-up in the shot put.  Her toss measured 32-7.5 while the winning mark was 33-1.5 by Kleinschmit of Wausa.  Mary was also fifth in the discus with a distance of 85-11. 

The girl’s 400-relay team finished in second place in 56.89, with team members Kennedy Johnson, Makenzie Johnson, Grace Gansebom, and Haven Schultze.  The 1600-relay team was third in a time of 4:47.60.    Riley Wagner, Makenzie Johnson, Grace Gansebom, and Kennedy Johnson made up that team. 

          Grace Gansebom finished third in the 200 meters in 29.80 and she made the finals of the 100 meters but did not score. Makenzie Johnson tied for third in the high jump at 4-6 and finished fourth in the 100 hurdles in 18.22. Kennedy Johnson placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 30-6; she was also fourth in the 400 meters in 67.84.  Kiera Moes collected sixth place in the 300 hurdles in a time of 60.49. 

          The 3200-relay team placed fifth in a time of 12:50.92.  Team members were Madeline Huwaldt, Kiera Moes, Bailey Schmit, and Lexi Beacom.
