Tuesday April 11th the Osmond Track teams traveled to Neligh for their nine team invitational. The weather was breezy, but warm and sunny. The Tiger boy’s finished third behind champion Elkhorn Valley and runner-up Plainview. The Tiger girl’s finished in seventh place.
Osmond had two gold medal performances: Cali Gutz in the 1600 meters and Trevin Larson in the 100 meters. Cali’s winning time was 6:12.5. She was also runner up in the 800 meters in a time of 2:33.4, her best of the season.
Trevin led the Osmond sprinters winning the 100 meters in a very quick 11.4; teammate Alex Vinson was third in 11.8; and Hunter Buchanan was fourth in 11.9. The Tigers also scored well in the 200 meters as Trevin finished second in 24.1; Hunter fourth in 24.4; and Alex was fifth in 25.0.
Second place went to a pair of boy’s relay teams. The 3200-relay team finished in second place in their best time of the season so far and placed just behind Elkhorn Valley and in front of Plainview. Jaxon Vinson, Robert Aschoff, Hudson Schultze, and Karter Johnson covered the distance in 8:59.3. The 1600-relay team earned their second place finish in a time of 3:47.9. Team members were Trevin Larson, Hudson Schultze, James Doyle, and Alex Vinson.
Third place medals went to Carson Bolz in the discus with a toss of 117-3. Hudson Schultze finished a close third in the 400 meters behind Aiden Norman of Fullerton. Hudson’s time was 54.8 and Norman’s time was 54.5. The 400-relay team also placed third in a time of 47.6 with team members Alex Vinson, Trivin Larson, James Doyle, and Hunter Buchanan.
Hunter Buchanan earlier placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18-9. Zach Reikofski placed fifth in the discus with a distance of 114-10. Dominic True collected a fifth place medal in the 3200 meters in a time of 12:13.6. Jaxon Vinson ran a nice 800 meters but was edged out at the finish line by Tanner Frahm of Plainview. Jaxon’s time was 2:19.2. Noah Geneski finished fifth in the 300 hurdles in a time of 48.80, his fastest of the season.
Carson Bolz placed sixth in the shot put at 37-1.5. James Doyle was sixth in the 400 meters in a time of 57.4. Robert Aschoff placed sixth in the 1600 meters in a time of 5:24.7. Darren Kelly also made the finals of the discus, but did not place.
For the girl’s, Erica Heiman placed third in a tight finish in the 100 hurdles. Her time was 18.7. She also placed fifth in the 300 hurdles in a time of 54.6, as well as sixth in the 400 meters in her fastest time ever of 66.3.
Keli Aschoff had a strong finish in the 3200 meters where she passed two runners on the last strait away for a fourth place finish. Her time was 14:42.0. Sophie Gansebom tied for sixth place in the high jump at 4-4.
The 1600-relay team placed fifth in a time of 4:49.7. Team members were Erica Heiman, Keli Aschoff, Carriana Kumm, and Cali Gutz. The 400-relay team finished in sixth place. Sophie Gansebom, Anabelle Vinson, Abby Brown, and Erin Wagner covered the lap race in 58.9.
