Saturday March 16th the Osmond Tiger Track teams traveled to Wayne for their invitational. The weather was cool but very windy. Osmond athletes as well as athletes from Columbus Scotus, Wayne, Boone Central, and Scribner-Snyder braved the elements for the first meet of the year.
The Tigers fared well in the field events starting with a gold medal won by senior Xander Brown in the discus. Xander took the lead on his first of four throws and never was challenged. His mark was 137-10. Xander’s teammate Carson Bolz was second with a toss of 109-0 on his third throw. Third place was 106-0.
In the shot put Xander had the best mark until the last throw of the competition with a distance of 40-4. That last throw was by Thomas Roberts of Boone Central that measured 41-6.
Hunter Buchanan took the lead in the long jump on his second jump that measured 19-3.25. Evan Steffensmeier of Scotus then popped a 19-6.25 to take the lead and that held up for the win.

On the track Dominic True was the top medal winner finishing in second place in a very strategic race.
