Osmond TeamMates Plays Water Balloon Volleyball, Celebrates End of School
The Osmond TeamMates chapter celebrated the end of their third successful school year on Tuesday, May 16th. Beth Manzer, Program Coordinator welcomed the mentees, mentors and families and thanked everyone for their commitment to the program.
The evening was kicked off with a potluck barbeque at the school. Once everyone was finished eating, Beth Manzer took the kids out to the playground. Here the kids burned off some energy and shared with Mrs. Manzer some of their favorite things about the TeamMates program. Inside, Leah Orr, Board of Directors President, handed out certificates to mentors who achieved various milestones with their mentees. Current Board of Directors were also recognized and given certificates for their years of service.
The group capped off the evening by moving locations and meeting down at the Osmond City Park to play water balloon volleyball. Those who wanted to participate were paired with a partner, given a towel and formed teams on the sand volleyball courts. The object of the game is for partners to toss a water balloon over to the other side of the net using a towel. The five pairs of partners on the other side of the net then have to try and catch the balloon before it falls to the ground and splatters. By the end of the evening, all of the pairs had their own strategies for tossing and catching the balloons. Ice cream bars were given to all participants as they departed for the evening.
