Tigers host wrestling meet
OSMOND — The Osmond Tiger wrestling team hosted the Osmond invitational on Saturday, Dec. 16. The Tigers scored 52 points and finished in seventh place out of the nine teams competing. Norfolk Reserves were the team champions, followed by Crofton and Pierce. Osmond had three individual place winners, with Colton Beacom finishing third at 138 lbs. and Alexis Solorzano finishing third at 182 lbs. Alexander Heiman placed fourth at 126 lbs.
"I thought this was a good meet and overall the kids all wrestled very well," commented Coach Larry McKenna. "Colton finished with a record of three wins and one loss, with all three wins coming by pin. Alexis also finished with a record of three wins and one loss, which included two pins and a major decision. Alexander finished with two wins and two losses. Alexander also set a school record for fastest pin at seven seconds. This breaks the old record of eight seconds set in 2001 by current assistant wrestling coach Kyle Schmit."
