Tigers host annual Osmond Wrestling Invite

Wrestlers Compete at Osmond Invite

    The Osmond Tiger Wrestlers competed at the Osmond Invite on Saturday, Dec. 15.  The Tigers scored 86 points and finished in 7^th place out of the 11 teams competing.  Pierce was the team champion followed by Creighton and Norfolk Reserves. Overall the Tigers had four individual medal winners led by Patrick Vinson who finished as the runner-up in the 145 lb bracket.  Also placing for Osmond were, Alexis Solorzano, 3^rd at 182 lbs, Mason Bykerk, 4^th at 126 lbs, and Hunter Beacom, 5^th at 113 lbs.

     Patrick had a really good tournament winning his first four matches all by pin to reach the finals at the 145 lb weight bracket.  In the finals Patrick had a 4-0 lead going into the 3^rd period before losing in a close match to finish second.

    Alexis also had a good tournament, finishing with four wins all by pin to finish in 3^rd place in the 182 lb braket.  Alexis started the day with 3 pins before losing a close 14-7 decision in his fourth match.  This put Alexis in the 3^rd and 4^th place match where he picked up another pin to finish in 3^rd place.

     I thought that Bodie True also wrestled well picking up two wins by pin to finish the tournament with a 2-2 record. 

Also wrestling for were Troy Donner, at 145 lbs and Nick Timmerman at 220 lbs.  Troy and Nick are both first year wrestlers and I can see that they are continuing to improve each week and are getting close to picking up a victory.
