Student Leaders Attend 95th National FFA Convention & Expo
More than 69,500 FFA members and supporters from across the country celebrated agriculture
and agricultural education last week during the 95th National FFA Convention & Expo in
Indianapolis. Eight FFA members from the Osmond FFA Chapter attended the Convention -
freshmen Ava Reikofski; sophomore Cody Gansebom; juniors Matthew Alderson, Hunter
Buchanan, Ethan Davids, and James Doyle; and seniors Zachary Reikofski, and Cali Gutz.
This time-honored tradition, hosted by the city of Indianapolis, was held Oct. 26-29.
The event culminated with the election of the 2022-23 National FFA Officer team. Students from
Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia were elected by National
FFA Delegates to serve as 2022-23 National FFA Officers. They will lead the organization for
the next year.
Andrew Seibel of Virginia was elected national president and Jessica Herr of Pennsylvania was
elected national secretary. Ryan Williamson of Texas was elected western region vice president;
MacKenna Clifton of North Carolina was elected southern region vice president; Karstyn
Cantrell of Oklahoma was elected central region vice president; and Gracie Murphy of Illinois
was elected eastern region vice president.
Those attending the convention participated in general convention sessions hosted at Lucas Oil
Stadium, were inspired by their peers as they were recognized for their accomplishments, and
heard from keynote speakers, like Tamika Catchings. Convention attendees also explored
various career paths at the National FFA Expo, participated in career success tours, and more.
FFA members and advisors took their skills to the next level in student and teacher workshops
— hearing from industry leaders, motivational speakers and more — and watched members
discuss their agricultural projects on the new Student Showcase Stage.
Service has always been a part of the FFA motto, and it was front and center at this year’s event
as members took part in service projects at the convention center and various sites in
Indianapolis. In partnership with Book Pillows of Hope, members constructed more than 1,200
travel book pillows to be donated to schools, hospitals and first responders.
General convention sessions were aired live on RFD-TV and The Cowboy Channel. To learn
