FFA members take in Husker Harvest Days 2018
Osmond FFA Attends Husker Harvest Days Husker Harvest Days started its 41st year of being the world’s largest totally irrigated farm show with a new look, new feel, and a new sense of purpose.
Following the conclusion of last year’s 40th Anniversary show, the Husker Harvest Days facility took on a $7.5 million facility upgrade.
Some of the improvements included upgrades to the electrical infrastructure, new restroom facilities, paved streets, better drainage, and better security.
On Wednesday, September 12th nine Osmond FFA members were able to see the upgrades first hand as they learned about the latest innovative technology on the agricultural marketplace.
Attending this huge outdoor classroom were senior Nick Reikofski, juniors Logan Stelling, Landon Stelling, Nick Timmerman, Josh Gansebom, and Madeline Huwaldt, sophomores Zach Huwaldt, and Connor Gutz, and freshmen Ryan Schmit.
While at the show, the Osmond students participated in the CASNR scavenger hunt, which rewarded students for taking time to speak to vendors from each of the seven career pathways within Ag, Foods, and Natural Resources.
Sophomore Landon Stelling commented that there was a lot to take in during the short amount of time they had to spend there.
The Osmond FFA Chapter would like to extend a thank you to Security State Bank for providing both admission and meal tickets for the students to attend the farm show.
