Tigers earn first at WSC parade
Wayne was a wonderfully wet day! The parade started at 9:30am. We were the 7th band to enter the parade. We competed against other class D2 schools: Bloomfield, Allen, and Verdigre. We were awarded the Class D2 championship trophy as well as a $200 scholarship for any senior planning to march at Wayne State College next year. I was very proud of the students for their performance at Wayne this past weekend. Even though it was cold and wet, they marched the best they have all year. It felt really good to receive the top placement and the comments we got were constructive and gave us good goals to shoot for next week at Harvest of Harmony. After the parade, the students watched the Wayne State Marching Band perform some pep band tunes and their show tunes. It is always a neat experience for them to be able to witness what a college marching band does.
