Conference Honor Band

On Saturday, January 20, eight members of the Osmond band traveled to Wayne State College to participate in the Lewis and Clark Conference Honor Band. Jack Berg and Donovan Heiman were part of the 9-10 grade band. Erica Heiman, Matthew Alderson, Caleb Miller, Erin Wagner, Keely Gubbels, and Landon Oltjenbruns were part of the 11-12 grade band. Students arrived in Wayne at 8 a.m. and rehearsed until 3 p.m. with a concert at 3:30. Due to snow days prior to the honor band, there were no tryouts for chair placements. Caleb Miller said, “I was really disappointed that there were no tryouts because I was really looking forward to that, and I don’t think this was the best year of Conference because of the snow.” Caleb has gone to this honor band all four years of high school. Mrs. Ginn said, “We braved the cold for a great day of music making and I was glad to be back at the renovated Wayne campus. I’m also glad the students upheld the tradition and I was happy to see people in the crowd despite the weather.”
