Tigers tackle C-O Cyclones
Boys Basketball Improves to 8-4 with Win over Clearwater/Orchard
The Tigers hosted the Cyclones on Friday night, their first game in a week’s time. Our boys had no problem with the Cyclones, outscoring them in every quarter and finishing the game with a 69-30 victory. Coach Schulze commented, “We’ve had a few games like this so far this season. Games that, with no disrespect to our opponents, we knew we would win. What I have enjoyed watching in those games is how disciplined we have played, getting on top early in the contests and increasing the lead throughout the game.” The Tigers demonstrated their discipline on Friday, playing team-first basketball and recording a season-high 20 assists and 17 steals. Osmond was led in scoring by senior Brock Johnson’s 18 points, shooting 62% from the floor. Brock had big contributions on defense, stealing the ball from Clearwater/Orchard 7 times, turning into several fast break points for the Tigers. Cole Moes wasn’t far behind, tallying 15 points. Tucker Timmerman had an efficient night, shooting 75% and finishing with 12 points. Keaton Timmerman did a little bit of everything for the Tigers, leading the team in rebounds and assists, getting 6 of each, and adding 8 points to the Tiger total. “I like what we’ve been able to do defensively as of late, holding our last two opponents to under 40 points. That’s something we will look to improve on as we head into the last week before the conference tournament,” added Coach Schulze.
