Masterpieces Unveiled at Lewis and Clark Conference Art Show
Wayne State College’s Student Union Atrium was vibrant with color and creativity from March 21st through 25th as talented young artists from seventeen schools proudly showcased their work at the highly anticipated Lewis and Clark Conference Art Show. From stunning paintings to intricate sculptures, the event celebrates the diverse talents and artistic visions of students from across the region.
Walking through the exhibit, visitors were treated to a kaleidoscope of creativity, with each piece offering a unique glimpse into the artists’ imagination and perspective. Vibrant canvases depict scenes both whimsical and thought-provoking, while sculptures crafted from various materials showcased the students’ mastery of form and texture.
The art show was not only a display of talent but also a celebration of the creative process. Students have poured countless hours into their work, exploring different mediums, experimenting with techniques, and expressing themselves in ways both bold and subtle. Each piece told a story, inviting viewers to reflect, interpret, and connect with the artists’ vision.
The following artists represented Osmond Community Schools in the exhibit: Xander Brown, Anna Kahny, Erica Heiman, Cody Gansebom, Caydence Krienert, Baylen Guenther, Owen Severson, Matthew Alderson, Nicolas Velasco-Morlans, Dominic True, Hunter Buchanan, Ella Klein, Korrine Moes, Adyson Poellot, Easton Steinkraus, Erica Northcutt, and Jesse Jensen.
Students receiving first place ribbons included Anna Kahny, Cody Gansebom, Matthew Alderson, Hunter Buchanan, and Korrine Moes. Those receiving second place ribbons included Xander Brown, Anna Kahny, and Caydence Krienert. Those earning third place were Xander Brown, Erica Heiman, Cody Gansebom, Caydence Krienert, Ella Klein, Adyson Poellot, Easton Steinkraus, Erica Northcutt, Jesse Jensen, and Korrine Moes.
The highlight of the show for the Osmond students was three works being recognized with special honors. Anna Kahny’s Acrylic Painting “American Soldier” earned the Best of Category Medal, along with Erica Heiman’s Tempera Painting “Kerplunk”. Hunter Buchanan’s Wooden Bowl earned an Honorable Mention Best of Category Medal.
