New Risers for Osmond Vocal Program
Osmond Choir Students Celebrate the Purchase of New Risers
By: Mrs. Ginn (band/choir instructor)
The Osmond Vocal Program received new risers this summer by collaborating with the Osmond Music Boosters and the Osmond School Board. The risers cost just over $13,000. Half of the funds were donated from the Osmond Music Boosters Organization which is run by the parents of the music students in the Osmond Community Schools and the Osmond School Board provided the other half.
The previous risers were built in 1967 and had served the Osmond community schools very well, but they were bent in several areas and began to be a safe risk for our performers. The music department is very grateful for the new risers and can't wait to show them off at their first performance this fall. For now, they will be used daily by the Junior High and High School Choirs, as they prepare for the many singing events scheduled this semester. Thank you to those who donated, fundraised, and supported this project. It is such a relief to have safe, sturdy, and spiffy-looking risers for our talented singers here in Osmond.
Some of the upcoming vocal performance dates where these risers will be showcased: are November 7th, 7-12 Fall Vocal Concert at 7 pm, and December 11th K-12 Christmas Concert at 6 pm.
